Supporting young people with anxiety, school pressures, trauma and emotional wellbeing in Leeds and online.
If school or college feels overwhelming, friendships have become difficult, or anxiety is affecting everyday life, counselling can help. I provide counselling for young people aged 11+ from two therapy rooms in Leeds, as well as online counselling via Teams and telephone sessions. Together we'll create a safe, supportive space where you can talk openly, build confidence and work through whatever you're facing.

A steady, boundaried place to talk things through
-
Person-centred and trauma-informed
-
Creative options when words are hard (art, objects, writing)
-
Clear aims, regular reviews, and a pace that fits you
My approach to counselling young people
-
Person-centred & trauma-informed: we start with your story, pace and aims, with safety and clear boundaries.
-
Integrative: I draw on brief, relational and solution-focused ideas, alongside humanistic/person-centred foundations.
-
Creative options: art, objects or writing when words are hard.
-
Collaborative: we set goals together and review regularly so sessions stay useful.
-
Inclusive: experienced with LGBTQI+, neurodiversity, and multi-cultural work.
A safe space to be yourself
Every young person is different, so counselling should be too. Some sessions might involve talking. Others might include drawing, writing, creative resources or simply taking time to think. There is no pressure to share everything at once. Together we'll find an approach that feels comfortable and helpful for you.
Information for parents & carers
It can be difficult watching your child struggle, and reaching out for support is often the hardest step. Young people need privacy and confidentiality to build trust, so at the beginning of therapy we'll agree how we will work together through a three-way agreement between myself, your child and you. This creates clear expectations while ensuring your child has a safe and confidential space to talk.

Drawing on almost two decades of experience supporting young people and families, I write about anxiety, exam stress, emotional wellbeing, school pressures, friendships, grief and practical ways to support young people's mental health. These articles are designed to offer guidance, reassurance and ideas you can use in everyday life.
