Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 2025

Your privacy is taken seriously. This policy outlines how your personal information is collected, used, and protected, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and relevant UK data protection laws.

1. What data is collected?

Data is collected only through the completion of the contact form, assessment and sessions.

2. How will I use your data?

I collect data so that I have contact details to arrange appointments, issue invoices, contact next of kin or GPs.

3. Who will see my data?

Your data will not be shared with other services for any other reasons. Your data will be stored in a secure manner.

4. Privacy and confidentiality of your sessions

Any information will only be shared under the following conditions:

a. Clinical supervision:
All information within supervision sessions will be anonymised and treated as confidential.

b. For your personal safety:
In the event that there is a serious concern for your physical health, data might be disclosed to your GP, mental health service, social services, and/or safeguarding units. Any such disclosures will be discussed with you prior to disclosure, and you will be advised of the steps taken.

5. How long is your data kept

I keep records in accordance with BACP guidelines and legal requirements. This usually means retaining clinical notes for up to 7 years after our work ends (or until the client turns 25 if under 18 at the time of therapy). After this period, data will be securely deleted or destroyed.

6. Sharing your information

Your personal data is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing. Your information may only be shared:

  • If required by law or legal process

  • If there is a risk of serious harm to you or others

  • With your explicit written consent

I may discuss aspects of my clinical work in professional supervision (a standard part of ethical counselling practice), but you will never be identified.

8. Cookies and Website Analytics

My website uses basic cookies to improve user experience and collect anonymous website traffic data. No personal information is collected without your consent.

You can manage your cookie preferences via your browser settings.

9. Updates to this policy

This policy may be updated occasionally. The most recent version will always be available on my website.
